Living Under the Stars @ Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre
26 November 2015
LUTS is part of this project organised by Megan Cope at Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at the Melbourne Museum from 23-27th November.
“For thousands of years people from all around the world have looked to the night sky to connect with their creation stories, seasonal changes and navigation through land and the seas. Story telling and the exchange of traditional cultural stories is a vehicle for cross-cultural understanding and celebration.
Uncle Larry Walsh along with Koorie Community, Pacific Island Nations and members from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre have put together a collection of galactic journeys.
This video features stories narrated by VACL staff Aunty Fay Stewart-Muir, Paul Paton and Mandy Nicholson. These stories and more are part of an interactive sculpture ‘Living Under the Stars’ created by Keg De Souza, which is on display at the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre 23 – 27 November 2015, 11:30am daily
This project is proudly supported by City of Melbourne 2015 Arts Grants program, Fed Square’s Creative Program and Footscray Community Art Centre.”
