Appetite for Construction – Final Event, CAG Vancouver
13 November 2016
Appetite for Construction culminated in a dim sum event hosted within the old Park Lock Dim Sum restaurant. Participants over the residency period had brought in objects that represented the changing urban fabric of the area represented through local food culture. These objects were vacuum bagged and used to create the final structure that hosted the dim sum event and conversation.
This was the final event in a series of projects I have been developing with Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver over the past two years looking at food culture as evidence of and as a metaphor for displacement. Other events include: Preservation (2015) and Temporary Spaces, Edible Places: Vancouver (2015).
