Dear Belly: Food Stories from Liverpool

23 September 2025

Dear Belly: Food Stories from Liverpool is an exhibition that showcases artworks that explore the rich connections between food, culture and community through art, storytelling and shared experience. Food is something we all share, it brings us together, sparks conversation,  and often holds our most treasured stories. Dear Belly invites you to reflect upon the food and agricultural practices that deeply embedded in our local area and greater Western Sydney.

Drawing from Liverpool’s reputation as one of New South Wales’ most culturally vibrant food destinations, this exhibition will transform both the Switch Gallery at Liverpool Powerhouse and the Yellamundie Art Gallery at Liverpool City Library into creative feasts filled with food, memories, storytelling, scents and delicious visual displays.

Dear Belly will also feature an exciting program of workshops, dining experiences, and personal stories from local chefs, families and small  businesses. We invite you into the kitchens of Liverpool, where food is more than just sustenance – its a way of connecting.
