SPACES OF/AS PEDAGOGY: A CONVERSATION WITH KEG DE SOUZA

1 August 2018

An Arts and Creative Education research network special event.

In her first Australian institutional solo exhibition – Common Knowledge and Learning Curves(Artspace, 29 July – 12 August 2018) – Australian artist Keg de Souza utilises the familiar aesthetics of a classroom in unexpected ways to bring focus to the ways in which space informs teaching and learning. De Souza’s temporary architectural constructions, seek to create a playful, mutable setting to host a series of dialogical events throughout the duration of the exhibition, including a series of “pedagogical experiments” facilitated by Dr Remy Low and students from the Sydney School of Education and Social Work (SSESW). As a curtain-raiser to the exhibition and associated activities, SSESW is delighted to present de Souza in conversation with Dr Low, discussing her work and its inspiration.
