The Darling Foundry
08 October 2012
I arrived Monday night at the Darling Foundry, Montreal where I will be for the next few months as part of a residency partnership through Artspace, Sydney.
Whilst here I am developing a project about food politics. Inspired in part by Gordon Matta-Clark’s FOOD restaurant he co-ran with Carol Gooden and Tina Girouard in SoHo in the early 70s (Matta-Clarks’ archive is housed at the Canadian Centre for Architecture here in Montreal), and in part by the political organising and radical kitchens based in Montreal that cater a lot of these event, as well as cooking up almost daily lunches for students to allow access to free/donation healthy food. I will be hosting, and catering a number of discussions at my studio as we eat we will discuss food.
